About the Role

Textron Aviation Australia is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the preparation for and accomplishment of airframe, engine and avionics systems maintenance, as well as line service functions such as fuelling, towing and washing. This role ensures all activities are compliant with the Service Center Quality System in accordance with the Quality System Manual, and will be based at Textron Aviation’s new Service Centre at Essendon Fields Airport.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee, through subordinate supervision, the performance of maintenance and related services by Line Service, Aircraft and Avionics Maintenance Technicians, ensuring work meets technical quality standards
  • Oversee the dispensing of fuel, towing and positioning of aircraft and various line service functions
  • Plan, recommend and administer staffing, equipment and facility resources, preparing cost budgets, requisitions and reports
  • Take responsibility for overall operating efficiencies, including labour utilisation and billing efficiency
  • Develop and implement work-method improvements
  • Assist with cost estimates and quotations, ensuring service sales proposals are accurate, competitive and compatible with financial objectives
  • Ensure Hazardous Materials Handling Standards are met and personal safety equipment is used
  • Review customer account status before and during maintenance visits and resolve billing issues
  • Ensure the Quality System is properly implemented and maintained
  • Ensure on-time delivery of customer aircraft and maintain statistics to measure and improve shop performance
  • Manage shop loss control and reduction programs
  • Ensure proper submission of reports of defects or unairworthy conditions in accordance with Part 145

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant aviation experience, preferably in an aftermarket repair/maintenance environment
  • CASA Licence preferred

Qualifications

  • Pilot’s licence preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate to achieve goals
  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency, managing competing demands and deadlines
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge, if applicable
