About the Role
As the Airport Station Manager of OOL Airport, your primary role is to provide comprehensive leadership to a diverse team comprising Supervisors, Trainers, and administrative support staff. Your focus will be on optimising performance and fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and reliability that consistently surpasses the service expectations of Swissport's clients (airlines) and their customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a positive, generative safety culture across the ground handling organisation, including strong safety reporting and Just Culture
- Drive collaboration across the operation to identify needs and develop scalable solutions
- Prioritise objectives and implement strategies to achieve company initiatives as part of the leadership team
- Form and lead internal leaders, providing training and mentorship as needed
- Manage relationships with key clients
- Ensure airports meet performance requirements and maintain operational integrity
- Proactively monitor, manage and report on Airport performance, analysing Airport scorecards
- Identify improvement strategies against industry, contractual, regulatory and internal measures
- Lead the team to ensure success against defined key performance criteria including on-time performance, baggage, safety and audit performance and labour budgets
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated achievement in managing, motivating and leading a large team, including direct leadership experience in an aviation ground handling environment with a workforce of 50+ people
- Leadership experience in a fast-paced, safety and compliance focused service operation, managing the needs of multiple clients with divergent requirements
- Demonstrated experience contributing to business strategy, change management and performance improvement activities
- Proven commercial experience, relationship-building, and negotiating skills with strong business acumen
- Full budget responsibility, including delivering to cost and revenue expectations
- Practical knowledge of industrial relations processes
