About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Port Manager to take ownership of a complex, business-critical 24/7 operation at Brisbane Airport. You will lead the performance, maintenance and continuous improvement of a sophisticated baggage handling system that plays a vital role in keeping the airport moving. With accountability across safety, people, service and commercial performance, you will set the direction, build capability and deliver results.

Your Role

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team
  • Build a culture of safety, accountability and operational excellence
  • Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities
  • Drive system reliability, availability and operational performance
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Ensure contractual commitments and service standards are achieved
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, costs and P&L performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and customer value
  • Lead performance reporting, operational reviews and improvement initiatives
  • Effectively manage resources across a complex 24/7 environment

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience across operations, maintenance, engineering, aviation, airports, logistics, automation, manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Proven experience leading people within a complex operational or maintenance environment
  • Experience managing budgets, costs, operational performance and customer outcomes
  • A relevant trade, technical or tertiary qualification in electrical, mechanical, controls, engineering or maintenance
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • A track record of developing teams and improving operational performance
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • The ability to remain calm, decisive and accountable under pressure
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
