About the Role

Qantas Engineering keeps the airline at the forefront of aviation, caring for and maintaining both the Qantas fleet and aircraft for customers across the Asia-Pacific region. As a Cabin Avionics Engineer, you will work within the Technical Services Team responsible for providing Continuing Airworthiness Management Services to the Qantas Group airlines, ensuring continual airworthiness support for cabin-related avionics systems across various aircraft fleets. This is a permanent role based in Mascot with opportunities to grow your career across the Qantas Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the aircraft maintenance program, coordination of reliability initiatives and assessment of modifications that ensure the fleet continues to maintain the outstanding safety record of the organisation.
  • Improve fleet operational performance and optimise the cost of the asset.
  • Provide timely customer-focused specialist engineering advice and support to the Qantas Group.
  • Manage small/medium design projects or tasks to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Prioritise and manage multiple conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Manage expectations of customers in line with relevant service level agreements.

Essential Requirements

  • Professional Engineering degree qualifications in Avionics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with design and development of aircraft cabin interiors for Boeing or Airbus aircraft.
  • Experience with a wide range of cabin products and vendors.
  • Thorough working knowledge of CASR Part 21 & Part 42 regulations (understanding of EASA and FAA regulations desirable).
  • Proven organisational and communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Highly developed skills in problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Detailed knowledge of procedures and processes for continuing airworthiness of Qantas and customer aircraft.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Qantas and customer maintenance operations.
