NJE has been investing in the future of FIFO by progressively renewing its fleet with modern aircraft offering greater roster flexibility, suitability for regional aerodromes, increased reliability and lower carbon emissions.
About the Role
Responsible for financial control, reporting and commercial finance support across NJE, with accountability for core finance processes and payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee GST, FBT, income tax and payroll tax compliance for National Jet Express Pty Ltd and NJE Aviation Services Engineering Pty Ltd, and manage the relationship with external tax advisors
- Own NJE's external audit process, prepare financial statements and audit files, and resolve audit queries
- Oversee regulatory reporting including ABS reporting, NGER environmental and emissions reporting, and Payment Times Reporting Act submissions
- Lead the month-end process, including journals, reconciliations, management accounts commentary and variance analysis
- Maintain NJE's fixed asset register, including aircraft and leased aircraft accounting, depreciation and finance lease liability models under AASB 16
- Maintain relationships with NJE's banks, oversee bank accounts, credit facilities and treasury functions, and assist in mitigating FX exposure
- Oversee AP and AR functions, including staff based in India, and support financial aspects of supplier and customer contracts
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, including return condition provisions
- Build financial models for tenders, contract renewals and pricing support, and provide financial input into enterprise agreements and industrial relations processes
- Manage finance team deliverables, including allocation of work, review of outputs and mentoring of staff
Essential Requirements
- CA/CPA qualification
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience
- Experience in a senior finance role in an asset-intensive or contract-based business
