South West Aviation Services (SWAS) is a professional aviation ground handling company contracted to deliver passenger experience and ramp handling services at Busselton Margaret River Airport, a division of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association.
About the Role
SWAS is growing its ground crew team, seeking 2 Ramp Staff and 1 Customer Service Agent, each working two to three 4-hour shifts per week including weekends. Previous aviation experience is an advantage but not essential — on-the-job training is provided.
Ramp Staff Duties
- Secure aircraft on arrival; load and unload aircraft
- Transport baggage to and from the aircraft
- Operate specialist ground service equipment such as tugs and belt loaders
- Train to carry out aircraft marshalling and dispatch
Customer Service Agent Duties
- Inspect and verify passenger documentation and identification
- Check passengers in and issue boarding passes
- Process passenger baggage per carrier terms and conditions
Essential Requirements
- Ability to follow procedures precisely and consistently
- Level of fitness necessary to lift 32kg unassisted
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol screening and a Federal Police clearance check
