The Role
CAE is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Simulator Technician II to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting CAE’s Full Flight Simulators and training devices while ensuring the highest levels of operational readiness for pilot training activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on flight simulators and associated systems
- Conduct visual alignments, calibration activities and system performance checks
- Execute and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures
- Support simulator modifications, upgrades and engineering change implementations
- Interpret technical documentation, schematics and system drawings
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the maintenance management system
- Ensure compliance with CASA, OEM, customer and CAE quality and safety requirements
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight simulator checks and support technical recovery during training disruptions
Qualifications & Experience
- A technical trade qualification, diploma, degree or equivalent training in electronics, electrical, mechanical, avionics, IT or a related discipline
- Typically 2–5 years of relevant technical experience in simulator maintenance, aviation, defence, industrial automation or a comparable technical environment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer and network-based systems
- Experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work a 4 days on and off (day, day, night, night) rotating roster from 6:30am to 6:30pm and 6:30pm to 6:30am
