About the Role
Bombardier is seeking a Procurement Manager, Material Logistics Support to manage and administer the activities of salaried employees in a Materials Procurement and Supply Chain Management environment, supporting Bombardier Aerospace Australia's operational requirements. Bombardier promotes flexible and hybrid work policies where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement and monitor Materials Logistics, Procurement and Supplier Management activities and KPIs to support operational requirements, ensuring effective governance, training and development of team members.
- Oversee materials logistics activities, including planning and ordering parts, managing schedule disconnects, supporting internal customer requirements, and ensuring the right part is delivered to the right place on time.
- Oversee material planning and availability to support maintenance, customer support and operational requirements.
- Support and lead placement of Purchase Orders and administration of related activities.
- Manage and support employees in executing their responsibilities to ensure strong performance, effective material availability and reliable support to operational teams.
- Utilise lean tools involving the shop floor and office teams to ensure best practices within their respective area.
- Liaise with on-site supplier intervention activities as needed to ensure component delivery on time.
- Establish, mentor and develop a Supplier Management, Procurement and Materials Logistics team aligned with Bombardier Aerospace Australia's operational requirements.
- Liaise with other teams to ensure smooth operations from a planning and MRB perspective including change management.
- Build strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance using appropriate scorecard metrics, service levels and delivery performance measures.
- Promote and act as a leader for Achieving Excellence System implementation.
- Assist in the development of departmental budgets, measuring and reporting on financial performance.
- Coach, mentor and develop employees in the group.
- Ensure timely and effective communications regarding operational issues, schedules and compliance with internal customers.
- Maintain a strong cross-functional focus, ensuring team members work collaboratively to meet operational objectives and customer support requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
- A diploma, university degree or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, logistics, procurement or a related field.
- Significant experience in supply chain, inventory management, materials planning, procurement, logistics or material handling.
- Ability to foster a sense of teamwork and excellence in the workplace.
- Demonstrated leadership skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and a good understanding of customer / supplier relations.
- Pro-active, results-oriented and striving for continued improvement.
