Aus Flight Handling is a leading provider of ground handling and air cargo services, servicing both capital city and regional Australian airports, with a workforce of approximately 300 people handling over 620 flights per week at nineteen airports across Australia.

About the Role

Due to recent expansion at Roma Airport, Aus Flight Handling is recruiting Casual Ramp and Customer Service Agents. The Roma base provides comprehensive ground handling services to Regional Express, Alliance and QantasLink. This is an immediate start opportunity, joining a small team performing all tasks associated with ground handling for client airlines. Previous aviation experience is desirable but not required — full on-the-job training is provided, with tasks increasing in complexity as you gain experience. Staff Travel benefits become available after six months of employment, and there are opportunities to transfer to other bases across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Baggage and freight makeup
  • Operation of powered and non-powered ground support equipment
  • Loading and unloading baggage into aircraft cargo holds
  • Aircraft marshalling, arrival and departure procedures
  • Operating aeronautical radio systems
  • Providing exceptional customer service at check-in and the boarding gate
  • Proactively managing delays, disruptions and off-schedule operations
  • Assisting passengers with special requirements
  • Maintaining accurate flight records

Essential Requirements

  • Fluent in spoken English
  • Reliable transport to and from Roma Airport
  • Punctual, reliable and with excellent time management
  • Computer literate
  • Current state driver's licence
  • Physically fit — able to lift 32kg
  • Able to obtain an ASIC (requires a federal police background check)
  • Able to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, public holidays and overtime as required
  • Flexible around changing airline schedules and delays
