This position will see you as part of a small team performing both check-in and ramp operations at Ballina Airport, where we provide ground and passenger handling services to QantasLink and Virgin Australia seven days a week. While prior experience in aviation is highly desirable, we are also able to provide full training for the right candidate.
Main Responsibilities
You will perform both check-in and ramp operations, undertaking all tasks associated with the ground handling of aircraft for our client airlines. You will initially receive training in basic functions of your role for check in, and over time be progressively introduced to more complex functions and procedures.
Tasks you will be required to undertake during a shift include (but are not limited to):
Physically fit – able to safely perform manual handling.
Passenger check-in and boarding gate operations.
Preparation of manifests, flight documentation, and freight manifests.
Assisting passengers with special requirements to and from the aircraft.
Operation of a wide range of powered and non-powered airport equipment (full state driving license essential).
Loading and offloading aircraft holds.
Aircraft marshalling and dispatch.
Operating aeronautical radio systems.
Cabin cleaning.

Proficient computer skills.
Pass Drug, Alcohol and Audio tests.
Able to obtain an ASIC (requires a federal police background check)
Ability to work weekends and Public Holidays including Christmas.
Ability to work any shift from 05:00am to 11:00pm.
Commit to shift lengths of minimum 4 hours per day.
Available for 2 weeks' paid full-time training.
Reliable transport to and from Ballina Airport.
Punctual, reliable and with excellent time management.
