About the Role
Airservices Australia is seeking a strong operational leader to manage the day-to-day operations and delivery of Air Traffic Management (ATM) services at the Brisbane location. Reporting to the Aerodrome and Airspace Services Head, you will be accountable for Service Delivery, People, WHS, and Cost within your designated area of operation — managing, engaging, and driving performance for all ATM Operators and Support Staff in Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimise ASA attributable ground delays and service variations
- Identify new and emerging risks
- Meet budgetary targets and provide variance analysis as budget holder
- Drive accountability and results through team collaboration and leadership
- Manage workforce planning and rostering including planned and unplanned leave
- Identify and support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
- Define and monitor team performance, upskilling, and succession planning
- Be accountable for all WHS aspects of the team
- Devise and communicate local and broader strategic direction of the unit
- May require 7-day rotating roster and/or weekend escalation responsibilities
About You
- Previous operational management experience within similar complex environments
- Extensive people management and leadership capabilities
- Demonstrable understanding of safety and risk management
- Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to think strategically with a strong sense of commercial and business needs
- Ability to make sound business decisions quickly and confidently
- Tertiary qualifications in Management, Business, or a Technical field (desirable)
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (background check required)
