Ansett Aviation Training (AAT) is a global provider of flight simulator operations, maintenance, and aviation training services, with centres in Melbourne, Brisbane, Maroochydore, Taipei, Milan, and Dubai. AAT is seeking a Simulator Team Leader to join its Tullamarine, Melbourne centre.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for motivated simulator technicians ready to step into a leadership role. As Simulator Team Leader, you will manage a team of technicians responsible for operating and maintaining fully serviced flight simulators — planning and allocating resources, ensuring serviceability and productivity, and overseeing compliance testing schedules. The role reports directly to the Technical Manager – Melbourne.
You don't need advanced technical experience; your ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team is what truly counts.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of simulator technicians
- Plan, prioritise, and allocate work to meet objectives
- Knowledge of real-time computer techniques, digital and analogue electronics (including microprocessors), visual systems, and simulator maintenance
- Excellent numerical, diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Coordinate maintenance activities through to completion in accordance with agreed standards and timeframes
- Liaise and collaborate effectively at all levels
- Apply and instruct others in AAT's safety management framework
- Maintain and share up-to-date knowledge of simulator technology and maintenance practices
