Toll Aviation is seeking an experienced and credible Vice President – Rotary Wing to lead our rotary wing operations supporting critical government and defence missions across Australia. This is a senior executive role for a leader who combines strong people leadership, deep client engagement capability, and technical aviation credibility within complex, highly regulated environments.

The Opportunity: 

As Vice President – Rotary Wing, you will have overall accountability for the strategy, operational delivery, safety, and commercial performance of the rotary wing business, leading a workforce of approximately 200 aviation professionals.
You will serve as the CEO / Accountable Manager (AOC Post Holder) for rotary wing operations, providing executive oversight across flight operations, continuing airworthiness, safety, quality, and training alignment. You will work collaboratively with engineering, safety, quality, and training leaders to ensure robust aviation governance and sustainable performance.

A critical component of the role is senior client leadership. You will own and strengthen relationships with key government and defence customers, oversee major contracts, and ensure outcomes meet both contractual obligations and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the rotary wing business strategy, balancing safety, performance, commercial outcomes, and growth.

  • Act as CASA-approved AOC Post Holder / CEO / Accountable Manager for rotary wing operations.

  • Inspire, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing leadership team.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior customers and stakeholders.

  • Ensure safe, compliant operations aligned with CASA and Toll Aviation governance frameworks.

  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, cost control, and contract delivery.

  • Support and, where required, lead new contract mobilisations and implementations.

  • Work with Business Development to identify and secure new rotary wing opportunities.

  • Represent Toll Aviation with customers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

About You:

  • Senior aviation leader with 10+ years’ experience in complex aviation operations.

  • Eligible for CASA appointment as AOC Post Holder / CEO / Accountable Manager (CASR Part 119, 133 and/or 135).

  • Proven experience managing major contracts and senior client relationships, ideally within government or defence environments.

  • Strong, authentic people leader with sound judgement and the ability to make high‑consequence decisions.

  • Commercially astute, strategic, and highly collaborative.

  • Able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance and ASIC.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
