The Role
The Training Specialist is responsible for managing both the strategy and operational delivery of theoretical and practical training to new and existing Ground Operations employees at Melbourne Airport. As a subject matter expert, you ensure training programs are engaging, effective, and aligned with approved operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Swissport and client training programs covering theory, practical training, buddy shifts, and competency-based assessments
- Ensure compliance with WH&S Act, CASA, OTS regulations, and company policies
- Manage training records accurately (paper and electronic)
- Monitor participant performance and provide feedback
- Identify training gaps and develop training plans
- Foster communication with Training Coordinators, managers, and client representatives
Requirements
- Extensive experience in an operational role, preferably within transport
- Strong understanding of WH&S responsibilities in a training environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Previous experience in a training role; ability to develop others through coaching
- Accurate record-keeping skills
