About the Role
We are now taking applications for a casual Airside Support Officer to provide coverage for our airside roles, to commence immediately. Reporting to the Advisor – Airport Operations, the Airside Support Officer is responsible for providing support to the Airfield Operations team to maintain a safe, secure, efficient and compliant aerodrome. This position will provide coverage as an Airport Safety Officer, Works Safety Officer and Ground Services Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Airfield Safety and Serviceability: assist with aerodrome inspections, wildlife hazard management, and monitoring airfield conditions to help maintain safe and compliant airport operations.
- Support Airside Operations and Works Activities: provide operational support to airfield teams and contractors, including assisting with airside works, inspections, and day-to-day activities.
- Assist with Aviation Communications and Compliance: maintain required records, support NOTAM administration, monitor operational information, and contribute to compliance with aviation regulations and airport procedures.
- Contribute to Airport Security and Emergency Response: assist with security monitoring activities, passenger safety oversight, and support emergency response arrangements when required.
- Maintain Airside Grounds, Equipment and Facilities: operate and maintain equipment, undertake grounds maintenance activities, and help ensure airport assets and facilities remain safe, clean, and operational.
Essential Requirements
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer or Works Safety Officer Certificate, or the ability to obtain.
- Experience in airside or live operational environments in a highly regulated industry such as aviation, rail or transport.
- Current C Class driver's licence and the ability to obtain an Airside Driving Authority.
- Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or ability to obtain.
- Current Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) or ability to obtain.
Desirable
- Experience in operating landscaping plant and equipment.
Please note, this is a casual, shift work role, and hours of work are based on leave coverage, airside projects schedules and peak periods.
