Skytraders Engineering maintains a diverse fleet of fixed wing Class A and Class B aircraft, operating from both Essendon and Tullamarine airports.
About the Role
Skytraders is seeking a Ground Handler to work in its Essendon and, on occasion, Tullamarine based maintenance facilities. This is a casual position, approximately 20 to 30 hours a week and mostly night shift, forming part of an engineering team dedicated to the operational support of a long-term state government special missions contract. No experience is necessary as training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of Special Missions aircraft
- Report to the Senior Base Engineer on matters relating to ground handling and airworthiness of the aircraft
- Ensure aircraft ground handling is carried out in accordance with Skytraders procedures, including aircraft towing, loading/unloading and manoeuvring of support equipment
- Support operational logistics and supply chain activities as directed by the Senior Base Engineer
- Maintain hangar facilities and ground support equipment
- Carry out supervised maintenance activities within the scope of qualification and experience
- Promote Occupational Health & Safety, DAMP awareness and the Skytraders Safety Management System
Essential Requirements
- A valid driver's licence and Australian residency
- High level of computing and communication skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to work proactively within a team
- ASIC eligibility and high attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate full compliance with all relevant work rules and regulations
Desirable
- Prior experience and qualification in aircraft towing and marshalling
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification or demonstrated aptitude in engineering
