About the Role
The Technical Services/Maintenance Watch Engineer provides 24/7 CAMO Engineering Support across operational Maintenance Watch and Technical Services functions, including AOG and mechanical disruption management, MEL/CDL/NAD/open defect coordination, technical investigations, CMMS and records support, ICA/AD/SB assessment, reliability inputs and aircraft technical records. The role supports Flight Operations, the OCC, Part 145 providers and CAMO management, and promptly reports safety, quality and compliance issues. When there is no flying, or no active operational Maintenance Watch task, the role will process Technical Requests as issued or assigned in the company ETR system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 CAMO Engineering Support across Maintenance Watch and Technical Services duties, including technical, administrative, records and CMMS support
- Act as the primary point of contact for Flight Operations, the Operations Control Centre and maintenance providers for engineering issues, AOG events, delays, defects and operational restrictions
- Seek CAM approval for any action requiring authority under regulations, including extension requests, part transfers, part fitment between aircraft, PUAs, MEL extensions and scheduled maintenance deferrals
- Oversee and assist in management of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) items, Configuration Deviation List (CDL) items, NAD defects, open defects and unscheduled maintenance
- Assess, review, and support incorporation of emergency mandatory Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA), including Airworthiness Directives, Mandatory Service Bulletins, Service Bulletins, vendor data, modification and repair documentation
- Provide technical recommendations and troubleshooting support across powerplant, avionics, structures, systems and interiors disciplines
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic records of significant maintenance events, defects, technical investigations, engineering decisions, technical records, utilisation, component status and regulatory compliance
- Process Engineering Technical Requests (ETRs), including Technical Requests for parts, materials, records, research and technical support
- Produce detailed Technical Services/Maintenance Watch shift handover reports
- Support aircraft modification projects, heavy maintenance checks, airworthiness review activities, weight and balance management, ozone reporting and other CAMO functions when authorised
Essential Requirements
- Comply with the company Safety Management System (SMS) and Security Management System (SeMS)
- Ability to maintain an ASIC throughout employment
- Ability to hold an unrestricted driver's licence
- Hold or have the ability to hold an unrestricted current passport
- Have the ability to work shift work as required by business needs
- Comply with all applicable regulations, company policies and procedures, and the airline's drug and alcohol management program
- Ensure compliance with CASA and other relevant aviation regulatory bodies and requirements applicable to duties conducted
