About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Fleet/Continuous Airworthiness Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities for the National Jet Express fleet to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. Key responsibilities include maintaining fleet airworthiness and modification status, monitoring defect rectifications, abnormal events, irregularity reports, reliability data, and audit findings, and ensuring the upkeep of the operator's Aircraft Maintenance Program and Minimum Equipment List (MEL). If appropriately qualified, the incumbent may be appointed by the AOC holder (CAMO) to issue Airworthiness Review Certificates and/or approve changes to Maintenance Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and comply with the requirements of the National Jet Express Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Monitor all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance carried out on assigned aircraft
  • Support the Technical Services Airframe Function
  • Produce and gain approval for revisions of the Maintenance Program Manual and Minimum Equipment List
  • Review, produce and approve new and revised Maintenance Task Cards
  • Review and assess technical literature and contribute to the Technical Instruction assessment procedure
  • Attend and contribute to fleet reliability meetings
  • Make applications to regulatory authorities for SFPs or PUSs
  • Subject to authorisation: assess and approve planning requests for Maintenance Program extensions, issue Pilot Maintenance Authorisations, carry out Airworthiness Reviews and issue Airworthiness Review Certificates, and assess and approve changes to the Maintenance Program Manual

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive regulatory knowledge suitable for appointment as an Airworthiness Standards Engineer
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, preferably in an aviation-related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in responsibilities aligned with this position, or 2 years with an additional 3 years in civil aviation maintenance
  • Continuing airworthiness management experience: 5 years in this area, or 2 years provided you hold or have held a maintenance certification licence in Category B1, B2 or C (or equivalent)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards, the CAMO Exposition, aircraft certification basis, structures, systems and propulsion systems, the aircraft's MEL and CDL, and relevant sections of the operations manual concerning continuing airworthiness
