About the role

The Maintenance Planner reports to the Deputy CAM and is responsible for the performance, control and compliance of maintenance planning.

This role will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position.
  • Plan fleet components (including unfitted components) and major assembly requirements, including but not limited to engines, landing gears, fuel; nozzles, APU’s, propellers, and other component modification programs.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant AMP by planning and managing task thresholds.
  • Plan and prepare work packages for all maintenance events including forecasting estimated man hours and aircraft downtime.
  • Liaise with all relevant departments to ensure facilities, tooling, spares, and maintenance data is available for all maintenance events.
  • Maintain a schedule of major maintenance and modification activities, providing a central ‘point of contact’ for coordination and information.
  • Responsible for production and distribution of several reports including the 10-day plan, the defect report, and the aircraft location report
  • Assisting with aircraft return documentation as required
  • Responsible for monitoring and closing out Technical Instructions once scheduled and in progress

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Knowledge of the following:
    • CASR Part 42 regulations.
    • Aircraft certification basis.
    • Structure and use of a minimum equipment list (MEL) and configuration deviation list (CDL).
    • Daily/weekly task planning.
  • Exhibits fairness, assertiveness, impartiality, honesty, and proactivity, while demonstrating integrity, initiative, and a self-starter mindset.
  • Strong client focus with the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff, key suppliers, service providers, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral (including presentation) and written and is an objective thinker.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows based software, in particular spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Familiarity with aviation software, Air Maestro, RAMCO, Galaxy (Pelesys) or similar; and
  • Eligible to hold an ASIC and Airside driver’s license
