About the Role

We are currently seeking a Cargo Flight Clerk, based at Adelaide Airport on a Permanent Part-Time (min 26 hours per week, average 30-35 hours per week) basis, to deliver a range of Cargo services including preparing cargo documentation and airway bills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Cargo warehouse operates by the free flow of import and export cargo between customers, clients' aircraft and their customers
  • Perform customer service functions, including cargo reservation bookings, track and trace, and quoting as required
  • Handle telephone and customer enquiries on all import/export cargo matters
  • Prepare airway bill documentation, information and manifests for flights
  • Check AWB data, rate charges, schedules and routings for freight
  • Process special handling, e.g. dangerous goods consignments, animals, human remains and perishables
  • Assist in locating lost, damaged and delayed shipments
  • Perform bond checks and ensure appropriate rate charges are collected and accounted for
  • Prepare cargo claims files for settlement
  • Compile statistics for monthly reports
  • Collect cargo documentation from aircraft and procure necessary regulatory clearances
  • Control ULDs including compiling records and processing messaging to airline customers
  • Complete Live Animal check sheets and process in line with IATA regulations

What We Need From You

  • Professional, approachable and warm in style with a strong attention to detail
  • Previous experience in an administration role - minimum of 2-3 years
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently work autonomously
  • Strong ability to problem solve and deliver solution based outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder services skills between airline partners
  • Effective and efficient time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detail
  • Proficient ability to utilise the Microsoft Office suite
  • Motivation and flexibility to work on a 7-day rotational shift roster as per flight schedules
  • Hold current Australian Driver's Licence
