Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation, working with communities, government agencies and the aquatic industry to save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.
The Opportunity
Based at Port Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements, this role leads the delivery and continuous improvement of LSV's RPAS (drone) program, supporting pilots, volunteers and stakeholders to build capability, manage risk and ensure safe, effective operations across emergency response, training and community safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee RPAS operations to ensure safe, compliant and effective delivery
- Coordinate operational activities, ensuring appropriate planning, risk management and compliance
- Strengthen workforce capability through training, accreditation and development of pilots
- Support integration of aerial capability into emergency response and incident management
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and building capability in an operational environment
- Strong experience in operational planning, risk management, compliance and governance
- Experience working in a safety-critical, regulated environment
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
Desirable
- Understanding of RPAS, aviation or emergency services operational capabilities
- Current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL); knowledge of CASA regulations
