We’re a Victorian water safety organisation whose purpose is to 'save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.' We work across prevention and response - supporting water safety education, lifesaving sport, and lifesaving services - so more people in Victoria can enjoy aquatic environments with confidence.
Life Saving Victoria was established in 2002 as a result of a merger between the Royal Life Saving Society Australia Victoria Branch (est. 1904) and Surf Life Saving Victoria (est. 1947). Today, we operate as a social enterprise and work with communities, educational institutions, governments, businesses and the broader aquatic industry. Our vision is that all Victorians learn water safety, swimming and resuscitation, and are provided with safe aquatic environments and venues.
