Your Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Trainer to join our team at RAAF Base Pearce. This role has become available due to the retirement of the current position holder and represents an opportunity to play a key role in the development, training and competency of our technical workforce.
Reporting to the Senior Manager P147 Training, you will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of training and assessment activities across Jet Aviation sustainment programs. You will support compliance with DASR 145 quality management systems, applicable contract requirements and business improvement initiatives.
This Full Time position offers an Annual Salary Package which starts from AUD$81,548 to $122,322 plus Super plus 10% Bonus.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop training systems and processes to support compliance with the BWC Contract, related plans and applicable EASA 145 requirements, with these systems and processes documented within a Training Development Plan.
- Provide direction and guidance to staff regarding training, competency and compliance requirements.
- Support the development of training budget forecasts and execute the annual training plan within the approved budget.
- Maintain a documented program for specialist and ongoing periodic reassessment of authorised personnel.
- Prepare monthly management reports on workforce training and competency levels.
- Facilitate regulatory authority, customer and third-party audits, including audits involving RSAF, Lockheed Martin, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
- Develop and deliver training packages addressing technical improvements, occurrence investigations and audit findings in collaboration with Quality, Safety and Maintenance leaders.
- Liaise with training providers.
- Assist with occurrence investigations, internal audits and the monitoring of corrective actions.
- Promote compliance with Government WH&S legislation, the Safety Management System and its open reporting culture.
- Foster a strong "Safety First" culture within the technical workforce.
- Promote continual improvement, including the application of LEAN methodologies.
- Participate in Business Improvement Team and program safety meetings.
- Maintain effective working relationships with AMO staff, Jet Aviation Corporate, RSAF, Pilatus and Lockheed Martin personnel.
- Support Jet Aviation's Vision, Mission, Core Values and OH&S policies and procedures.
- Comply with all requirements relating to conduct at RAAF Base Pearce and the attainment and maintenance of required security clearances.
What Will Help You Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance, MEA20518.
- The ability to undertake training through an OEM-endorsed organisation.
- The ability to attain and maintain the security clearance required for work at RAAF Base Pearce.
- Knowledge of OH&S and environmental requirements.
- Basic English language skills and good communication abilities.
- A courteous, customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work flexible schedules and meet the physical requirements of the role.
Advantageous
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills, Mechanical or Avionics.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAESS00021 Facilitation Skill Set.
- Previous experience with PC-21 aircraft, PT6A turboprop engines and/or glass cockpit aircraft.
- Knowledge of EASA regulations.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100.
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment with multiple priorities and project deadlines.
