We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Ground Handlers / Check-In Officers / AROs to support aviation operations at a remote site.

This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role combining passenger services, ramp operations, and airside safety responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role
You will be responsible for a broad range of airport and aviation support tasks, including:
Customer Service & Passenger Handling

  • Check-in of passengers and baggage

  • Passenger boarding and boarding calls

  • Ongoing communication with airline operators

  • Freight handling and coordination

Ramp Operations

  • Loading and unloading aircraft baggage

  • Aircraft receipt and dispatch

  • Ground Support Equipment (GSE) checks

  • Completing freight manifests and load instruction reports (LIR)

  • Operating tugs and positioning aircraft stairs

  • Aircraft refuelling and daily fuel quality/quantity checks

Airport Reporting Officer (ARO) Duties

  • Conducting daily serviceability inspections

  • Wildlife monitoring and dispersal

  • Foreign Object Debris (FOD) inspections

  • Fence line and security checks

General Duties

  • Minor ground and facility maintenance

  • Car park monitoring

  • Runway sweeping using FODBoss equipment

  • Runway lighting and marker checks/maintenance

  • Participation in BHP Operating System routines

  • Hazard identification and incident reporting

  • Participation in BHP Field Leadership activities

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A strong safety-first mindset and commitment to procedures

  • Ability to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)

  • Willingness to undertake Airport Reporting Officer (ARO) training

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Good organisational and problem-solving ability

  • A current driver’s licence

  • Previous experience in aviation or airport operations (highly desirable)
