We have an exciting opportunity available  to join our friendly and supportive team based at Esperance Airport on a part-time or casual basis for the right candidate.  

This position will see you as part of a small team performing both check-in and ramp operations at Esperance Airport, where we provide ground and passenger handling services to our RPT (Regular Passenger Transport) client and charter services seven days a week.  While prior experience in aviation is highly desirable, we are also able to provide full training for the right candidate. 

Main Responsibilities 

You will perform both check-in and ramp operations, undertaking all tasks associated with the ground handling of aircraft for our client airlines.  You will initially receive training in basic functions of your role, and over time be progressively introduced to more complex functions and procedures.   
 
Tasks you will required to undertake during a shift include (but are not limited to): 

  • Baggage and freight makeup; 

  • Physically fit – able to safely perform manual handling; 

  • Operation of a wide range of powered and non-powered airport equipment; 

  • Loading and offloading aircraft holds; 

  • Aircraft marshalling and dispatch; 

  • Operating aeronautical radio systems; 

  • Passenger check-in and boarding gate operations; 

  • Preparation of manifests, flight documentation, and freight manifests; 

  • Assisting passengers with special requirements to and from the aircraft; 

  • Cabin cleaning; 

As we are a relatively small operator, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of different roles.  We offer comprehensive training delivered both internally and by our client airlines and encourage all staff members to gain competency across all aspects of the operation.

We are able to offer rotating rosters and also less structured casual rosters, depending on your preference and the requirements of our operation.

 Required Competencies 

  • Able to obtain an ASIC (requires a federal police background check); 

  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test. 

  • Fluent in spoken English;

  • Current State Drivers Licence & Reliable transport to and from Esperance Airport;

  • Willing and able to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays. 

  • Ability to work with minimal direction, displaying initiative and motivation, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and in full detail; and be a participative and supportive team member; 

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; 

  • Ability to think strategically and handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy; 

  • Commitment to learning and growth;
