Coulson Aviation Australia is a subsidiary of global aerial firefighting company Coulson Aviation, supporting Australian States and Emergency Service Organisations with aircraft and experienced team members. Coulson operates worldwide with a fleet of large aerial firefighting assets across both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft — including Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™ and C-130 Hercules fire bombers, Citation and King Air fire support platforms, CH-47D Chinooks, UH-60 Blackhawks and Bell 412 helicopters.
Coulson Aviation Australia operates and manages New South Wales Rural Fire Service-owned aircraft across all aspects of maintenance, fleet support systems and management, and operating personnel. Our teams perform aerial firefighting missions, transport flights, intelligence and scanning missions, disaster mitigation, search and rescue operations and related activities.
About the Role
We are recruiting qualified Boeing 737 B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) to join our team. The successful candidates will work in a team environment performing maintenance and engineering activities in support of aerial emergency response services, with a strong focus on safety and customer service. The role requires flexibility and working away from home base at short notice, and offers a competitive salary with an emphasis on work/life balance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on customer-owned aircraft, ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical issues as appropriately qualified to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft and role equipment
- Supervise unlicensed engineers, apprentices and/or contractors as required
- Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance documentation of all work performed
- Support operations of emergency service aircraft to ensure effective response to missions
Essential Requirements
- CASA B1 Licence
- 737 experience in line and heavy maintenance
- 2 or more years of experience working in Australia as a LAME
- Ability to obtain ASIC clearance
- Ability to obtain RAAF Base access
Desirable
- 737 type rating
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Licence
- No exclusions on CASA licence
- Aerial fire suppression maintenance experience
