About the Role
Broome Aviation, based in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Flying Operations (HOFO) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader who is passionate about aviation safety, regulatory compliance and developing flight crew in a dynamic regional aviation environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all air transport operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures
- Maintain a strong safety culture and promote operational excellence
- Communicate and coordinate with regulatory authorities, including CASA, and ensure ongoing compliance and required certifications, approvals and authorisations
- Maintain accurate flight crew training and checking records
- Supervise and/or conduct flight crew training, checking and competency assessments
- Develop, implement and maintain operational policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to safety and operational systems
Minimum Qualifications
- Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- Current CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Minimum 1,000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 150 hours multi-engine experience
- Current Multi-Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating (MEA-IR)
- Previous single-engine piston experience
- At least six months’ management experience in air transport operations
Desirable
- GTE or C208 qualifications
- Experience operating Cessna 210, 310, 404 or 208
- Previous Chief Pilot or Head of Flying Operations experience in a similar environment
- Flight instructing, training or checking experience
Additional Information
The successful candidate will work alongside the current HOFO during a transition period and must be able to successfully complete CASA flight checks and examinations associated with the position. This position is based in Broome, Western Australia.
