Role Summary
As Deputy Head of Flying Operations (Part 135), you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Western Australia’s regional air connectivity. Working closely with the HOFO, you will lead pilots, oversee daily operations, uphold safety and regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement across the organisation. This role offers a clear pathway to the Head of Flying Operations position. Based in Broome or Kununurra, you’ll enjoy a relaxed, community-focused lifestyle with affordable living and endless outdoor adventure.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and motivate pilots and senior base pilots, support scheduling and uphold safety standards
- Maintain high training standards, recurrent training and proficiency checks
- Maintain and develop operational manuals and ensure regulatory alignment
- Monitor CASR compliance, support SMS implementation and liaise with CASA
- Oversee scheduling, crewing, route planning and irregular operations
- Foster a strong safety culture and support workforce engagement
Minimum Qualifications
- Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) plus Class 1 Medical
- 2,500+ hours total time with significant turbine experience
- 6+ months management experience in air transport operations
- Ability to obtain/maintain ASIC
Desirable
- PIC experience on King Air, PC-12 or Caravan
- Previous CASA approval in a key personnel role
- Training & Checking or instructing experience
- Tertiary qualifications in aviation or management
