Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking an Electrical/Avionics Engineer to join the C-17 Globemaster III sustainment and support team at RAAF Base Amberley.

Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical/Avionics Engineer within BDA, you will:

  • Work with the ADF to sustain and enhance the C-17 capability.
  • Integrate new software and avionics modifications into the C-17 Globemaster aircraft and ADF sustainment system.
  • Develop software and avionics verification and certification programs.
  • Assess compatibility for carriage and operation of new aircraft role equipment.
  • Provide assessments for hazard management relating to aviation software, avionics and electrical systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Avionics, Software, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics).
  • Minimum of 2 years avionics engineering experience.
  • Experience within an aviation environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to engage with external stakeholders.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Desirable

  • Familiar with EMI/EMC standards and processes.
  • Experience working in an ADF SPO (Systems Program Office).
  • Familiar with Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR).
  • Engineering authority within a DASR 21J or similar safety regulations.
  • NV1 Security Clearance.
