The Role

The Program Director P-8A Poseidon (PD P-8A) ensures the delivery of required outcomes by setting the strategic direction for the P-8A Management Unit (P8MU), establishing priorities and managing risk across all elements of the P-8A Program. The role leads a multi-disciplinary workforce of military and civilian specialists in project and sustainment management, engineering, integrated logistics support management and contract management.

The position leads both Acquisition (AIR7000 P-8A Poseidon Project) and Sustainment (CAF35 Product), including all Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) elements, ensuring the Program delivers on time, to cost and to the agreed standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison and coordination across the P-8A Cooperative Program with the United States Navy (USN), managing Australian SRSPO military and APS personnel in the P-8A Joint Program Office in the United States
  • Ensure high-level integration and management of the P-8A Program, including contracted Boeing Defence Australia services and Commonwealth team members, across the capability lifecycle
  • Ensure P-8A Poseidon budgets and support contracts are effectively administered and enable Program success
  • Engage collaboratively and with influence across the P-8A Enterprise, including local and international industry partners and overseas Defence organisations

About Our Team

Program Director P-8A Poseidon is a member of the Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) Executive leadership group. SRSPO ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force, including the P-8A Poseidon and MQ-4C Triton aircraft systems.
