About the Role
The Safety & Injury Management Advisor is responsible for coordinating injury management and return-to-work programs while providing practical workplace health and safety support across Alliance Airlines. Working closely with operational leaders, employees, external providers and regulators, the role ensures compliance with workers' compensation and WHS requirements while promoting employee wellbeing and positive safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Maintain effective relationships with external injury management and rehabilitation providers
- Develop and monitor suitable duties plans for injured employees
- Facilitate workplace assessments and rehabilitation programs
- Provide guidance and support to leaders regarding injury management obligations and best practice
- Monitor claim performance, costs and return-to-work outcomes
- Prepare wage reimbursement claims and provide payroll instructions relating to compensation payments
- Monitor Loss of Licence matters and associated entitlements
- Provide practical WHS advice and support to operational leaders and employees
- Conduct risk assessments and support hazard identification processes
- Participate in workplace investigations and incident reviews
Essential Requirements
- Return-to-Work Coordinator accreditation (or ability to obtain)
- Formal WHS qualification (Cert IV or higher)
- Demonstrated experience in injury management, rehabilitation or workers' compensation
- Previous experience in Workplace Health and Safety across an operational organisation
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation legislation and return-to-work requirements
- Experience working in a multi-site operational environment
Desirable
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Psychology or related discipline; knowledge of aviation, transport, logistics or other safety-critical industries.
