The Role & The Team

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Built Environment, Facilities & Fleet Management team. This role will play a critical part in supporting the delivery of Airservices' NexGen Program, working closely with business-as-usual engineering teams to ensure the successful introduction of Ultra Large Fire Vehicles (ULFV) and associated assets into operational service in accordance with Airservices' Technology Management Framework. The position will also provide ongoing fleet engineering support across Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) assets, helping maintain compliance with CASA Part 139H requirements, supporting vehicle safety initiatives, and ensuring the reliability, maintainability and availability of operational fleet assets.

What You'll Do

  • Provide electrical engineering expertise to support the introduction of new ULFV assets through the NexGen Program
  • Work collaboratively with operational, engineering and project teams to ensure assets are transitioned safely and effectively into service
  • Support engineering assurance activities in accordance with Airservices' Technology Management Framework
  • Provide specialist advice on vehicle electrical systems and associated fleet infrastructure
  • Support ongoing fleet engineering activities to ensure compliance with CASA Part 139H and other regulatory requirements
  • Investigate, analyse and resolve technical issues affecting ARFFS fleet assets
  • Contribute to systems engineering activities, requirements management and asset lifecycle decisions
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering assessments, specifications and recommendations
  • Engage with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure supportability and maintainability requirements are achieved
  • Participate in safety, risk, environmental, compliance and governance activities

You Will Bring

  • Experience supporting engineering projects, asset introduction programs or operational fleet environments
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and asset lifecycle management
  • Understanding of systems engineering practices, requirements management and engineering governance frameworks
  • Ability to analyse technical issues and develop effective, evidence-based solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Experience working within regulated environments, infrastructure, transport, emergency services, defence, aviation or similar industries highly regarded

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer – Electrical (RPEQ or equivalent)
  • Minimum five years' professional engineering experience, ideally within asset-intensive or project delivery environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering and requirements management
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence

Security Clearance

Must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
