Plane Support is seeking a practical and adaptable Machining & Workshop Technician to support aircraft component manufacturing and overhaul operations as the business relocates from the Gold Coast to Central Queensland. Initial operations will be based in Yeppoon, before transitioning to permanent facilities in Rockhampton as part of the next phase of development.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with machining experience who enjoys variety and is willing to contribute across a range of workshop activities within a small team environment. This role will work closely with experienced workshop personnel and the broader production team. While machining will form an important part of the role, Plane Support is looking for someone who is happy to contribute across a range of workshop, manufacturing and component overhaul activities as required.

The successful candidate will be mentored and supported to broaden their skills and understanding of aviation manufacturing and aircraft component overhaul processes. The role reports directly to the Director of Production.

About You

  • A practical and hands-on person who enjoys working with machinery and producing quality work
  • May be a machinist, fitter and turner, CNC operator, tradesperson or workshop technician looking for a role with greater variety and long-term development opportunities
  • Adaptable, willing to learn and happy to support a range of workshop activities within a small team environment

Location

Based in Yeppoon initially, transitioning to a permanent facility in Rockhampton over time. Some short-term travel may be required during onboarding, training and transition activities.
