About the Employer

The Royal Australian Air Force offers a career as an Airborne Electronics Analyst, working with sophisticated electronic surveillance equipment aboard advanced aircraft such as the P-8A Poseidon and E-7A Wedgetail.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for detecting threats, identifying illegal activity and incursions, assisting with search and rescue operations, finding and tracking submarines, and supporting battle space management. Paid from day one, with extensive on-the-job training provided.

Key Duties

  • Use radar sensors for surface surveillance, small target searches, weather analysis and terrain avoidance
  • Use Electro Optics sensors to detect infrared signatures of targets
  • Use Electronic Surveillance Measure (ESM) sensors to identify and intercept electromagnetic emissions
  • Use Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems
  • Use acoustic sensors to detect, classify and track submarines

Eligibility

  • At least 17 years old at time of enlistment
  • Australian Citizen
  • Passed Year 10 English, Maths and one STEM subject
