The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a P-8A Avionics Team Lead to join its high-performing P-8A Poseidon team at RAAF Base Edinburgh, Adelaide, bringing engineering judgement and technical expertise to teams responsible for design, maintenance and repair of critical weapon systems for the ADF.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and coordinate engineering personnel across maintenance, troubleshooting and design activities
- Provide engineering support across the full P-8A weapon system, including aircraft, mission support and training systems
- Drive development and continuous improvement of procedures for data collection, assessment and reporting
- Review, approve and contribute to engineering reports and documentation
- Lead projects from concept through delivery, meeting customer, regulatory and schedule expectations
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Aerospace or related discipline, or equivalent experience (RPEQ/CPEng desirable)
- 7-12 years' experience in avionics systems, aircraft repairs, analysis or engineering support
- Experience developing engineering artefacts in a regulated aviation environment (DASR, CASA, FAA, EASA or similar)
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Must be an Australian citizen to meet defence security requirements
