About the Role
As a Lead Trainer, you will lead the training functions of the operation, including the delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement of Star Aviation and airline training programs. You will mentor and guide Trainers, ensuring all training delivery aligns with company standards, client requirements, and industry regulations. Through leadership, collaboration, and subject-matter expertise, you will foster a culture of safety, capability, and excellence, developing a confident, skilled, and compliant workforce that supports operational success.
This role will be the trainer responsible for leading all cargo operations training on behalf of Qantas Freight at Western Sydney International Airport, ensuring personnel are fully competent in safe, efficient and compliant handling of air freight, equipment and associated regulatory requirements across all cargo functions.
Delivery of Training - Training Leadership and Delivery
Lead the planning, preparation, and facilitation of high-quality training programs across operations teams
Oversee the coordination and delivery of both initial and recurrent training
Participate in and contribute to validation and moderation activities
Support and supervise employees to complete their courses as per their Training Plans and course schedules
Deliver courses in accordance with Training Packages and industry requirements
Ensure students and employers satisfaction benchmarks are met or exceeded
Model professional training standards and behaviours, inspiring a learning culture that supports safety and operational excellence
Administration
Maintain accurate student and course records and complete all required reporting
Contribute to continuous improvement of the Training department and wider organisation
Completing, filing, and uploading training records
Compliance
Participate and contribute to internal and external audits and preparation requirements
Lead by example by demonstrating Star Aviation and Client safety behaviours, actively promoting, and strengthening a positive safety culture
Overseeing driving compliance across Star Aviation and Client Learning Management Systems.
Skills and Experience
A valid Australian Driver’s Licence
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Airside Driving Authority (ADA)
Certificate in Training and Assessment or equivalent relevant Industry experience
