Western Sydney Airport is developing and operating Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI), a new facility serving the Western Sydney region of Australia. The airport is engineered as a 24/7 operation, designed to accommodate full-day scheduled and charter activity across the region's expanding aviation corridor.
WSI is built on purpose-designed infrastructure integrated with next-generation airport systems. The facility incorporates smart airport technologies across passenger-facing operations and back-of-house functions, with system architecture oriented toward seamless traveller workflows and operational efficiency. The airport is scheduled to commence operations in October 2026.
As a greenfield airport development, WSI operates under Australia's aviation regulatory framework and aligns with airfield design standards and safety protocols governing new international gateways. The project encompasses terminal design, airside infrastructure, and integrated digital systems supporting both passenger experience and ground operations.
