What you’ll be doing:
As a Ramp Duty Leader, you’ll be responsible for the end to end leadership and oversight of daily ramp operations, ensuring each shift runs safely, efficiently and in line with compliance standards. You’ll lead and support ramp team members to deliver on operational requirements, maintaining a strong focus on safety, operating performance and on time performance outcomes.
Working closely with Customer Experience Managers, you’ll take a collaborative approach to ensure network integrity is maintained while consistently delivering Virgin Australia’s customer value proposition across domestic and short haul international operations.
This role involves shift work 7 days per week on a rotating roster.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
Hold a valid driver’s licence and can obtain and maintain an ASIC and ADA Level 2/3
Bring at least 4 years’ experience in airport operations, with strong exposure to ramp functions
Have proven experience leading and supervising teams in a fast-paced, operational environment
Demonstrate strong leadership capability, with the ability to coach, develop and motivate individuals and teams
Have a strong safety focus and a solid understanding of WHS, CASA and relevant workplace regulations
Are highly adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a changing environment
Can effectively plan, prioritise and manage time, applying sound judgement in day-to-day operations
Bring strong administrative skills and attention to detail
Embrace change and take an active role in driving improvements
Understand enterprise bargaining agreements and how they apply in the workplace
Hold Senior First Aid certification (desirable)
Have previous airline ramp operations and/or airport leadership experience (desirable)
Hold tertiary qualifications in aviation, business or airline management (desirable)
