About the Role

Turkish Cargo is seeking an experienced and motivated Cargo Operations Executive to join the Sydney Airport team. The role coordinates and supports daily cargo operations, serving as a key link between customers, freight forwarders, ground handling agents, and Turkish Cargo management to ensure operational performance, customer satisfaction, and compliance requirements are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Cargo Operations

  • Coordinate and monitor daily import, export, and transit cargo operations
  • Liaise with ground handling agents to ensure cargo is accepted, processed, loaded, and delivered in accordance with operational requirements
  • Monitor flight schedules and cargo movements to ensure smooth operational performance
  • Assist with managing flight irregularities, delays, offloads, and service recovery activities
  • Ensure special cargo (perishables, pharmaceuticals, dangerous goods, valuables, live animals) is handled in accordance with applicable procedures
  • Identify operational issues and proactively implement solutions

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary operational contact for freight forwarders, customers, and service providers
  • Respond to customer enquiries and operational requests professionally and in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with Turkish Cargo operational procedures and all aviation, security, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Support quality assurance programs and operational audits
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, security, and operational excellence

Reporting & CRM

  • Maintain accurate records within operational and CRM systems
  • Prepare operational reports and performance updates as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, airline cargo, logistics, or airport operations
  • Strong understanding of cargo operational processes and customer service principles
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and operational systems
  • Flexibility to support operational requirements outside standard hours when required

Desirable

  • Experience with an airline cargo operation or ground handling agent
  • Knowledge of IATA Cargo Handling Procedures and/or Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR)
  • Experience using cargo management and CRM systems
