About the Role

Tasman Cargo Airlines is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Duty Managers within the Operations Coordination Centre (OCC) in a casual capacity at Sydney Domestic Airport. This role offers flexibility and is suited to those who can step in during periods of peak operational demand, and coverage for periods of leave and absences. Reporting to the Head of Operations Coordination Centre (HOCC), this role places you at the centre of airline operations: coordinating flights, managing disruptions, and keeping our network running smoothly. Shifts: rotating 24/7 roster, including nights & weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage flight coordination – keeping our network running smoothly.
  • Prepare and distribute key operational documents – ensuring accurate, efficient communication.
  • Monitor flights and lead disruption management – make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Engage with pilots, ground staff, leadership and external stakeholders – ensuring smooth collaboration.
  • Develop and improve operational tools and workflows – introduce smarter, more efficient ways of working.

Essential Requirements

You will have at least one of the following:

  • A qualification in Aviation, Airline Management or a related field; or
  • A CPL/PPL; or
  • At least 1 year of experience in airline operations or another transport industry operational role; and/or
  • Crew control/rostering experience.

Desirable

  • Resilience and a positive, adaptable mindset; strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage disruptions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; familiarity with Microsoft Suite.
  • A passion for process improvement, and excitement about modernising operational workflows.

Eligibility

Must have full working rights in Australia, and meet all airport security/vaccination requirements. Willingness to complete a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Screen and provide a current Police Clearance.
