About the Role
As a key member of the centralised workforce planning team, this role is dedicated to developing optimal resourcing plans that support the achievement of strategic objectives. The Resource Planner ensures alignment with forecasted airline activity, commercial client agreements, work engagement standards, safety, and operational principles.
Resource planning and rostering are critical to Swissport's operations, significantly impacting our people, operational efficiency, and business performance. This rewarding position involves close collaboration with managers and leaders across the business to deliver excellence in customer service and operations, serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.
Your Activities
- Plan, schedule, and ensure optimal allocation of resources for various clients, schedules and aircraft types
- Ensure staffing plans are finalised at least 6 weeks in advance, with employee rosters published 4–5 weeks ahead
- Make recommendations to improve safety, efficiency, performance, and culture related to tactical resource planning and general operations
- Ensure regular and appropriate communication with all areas of the business
- Assist key stakeholders with the maintenance and data integrity of the skills matrix
- Recommend upskilling requirements to station management to ensure all shifts are covered by appropriately skilled employees
- Review shift allocations to ensure alignment with staffing plans and escalate any variances outside commercial arrangements
- Provide scenario modelling for future initiatives, analyses, data and reporting in a timely manner
- Handle sensitive and highly confidential commercial information with trustworthiness
- Lead a culture that values equality, fairness and transparency with zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination and harassment
- Work variable hours including early starts, late finishes, and weekends as required
Your Profile
- Experience in rostering, workforce planning and optimisation, administration and coordination
- Understanding of workforce planning processes, theories, and methodologies
- Knowledge of Swissport's workforce management systems and optimisation systems
- Direct aviation experience with thorough knowledge of airline ground handling operations
- Demonstrated ability to introduce change and improvements
- Adaptability, flexibility, commitment, sound judgement, and effective time management
- Eye for detail and very high standards of accuracy and efficiency
- Capability to work to demanding deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as a participative and supportive team member
- Strong proficiency in office tools including Excel, Google applications and email
