About the Role
WINKEL Aviation Services agents for QantasLink have vacancies at our Rockhampton Regional Airport location. We're looking for highly motivated candidates seeking work in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The successful applicants will be trained in all aspects of airline operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Baggage handling including loading and unloading aircraft
- Marshalling aircraft onto parking bays
- Unloading and loading baggage and freight
- Operating aircraft service equipment including aircraft stairs, tow vehicles and passenger assistance devices
- Freight consignment and dedicated aircraft freighter ground handling
- Cabin cleaning on arrival of terminating aircraft
- Opportunities to gain experience across multiple areas of airport operations including customer service, check-in and Qantas Regional Lounge hosting
To Be Successful You Must Have
- Current state driver's licence
- Eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Willingness to obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) licence for lounge hosting tasks
- Availability to travel away for initial training
- Willingness to work a rotating roster over 7 days including some split shifts
- Ability to pass mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Mature approach when dealing with customers with special needs
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Great time management skills and impeccable grooming and presentation
- Physically fit and able to lift a maximum of 32kg repetitively
- Ability to work outdoors and communicate via ground-to-air radio (existing AROC desirable)
- Previous experience with airline systems advantageous but not essential — all training provided
