About the Role
Airline Freight Handling Agents play a pivotal role in airport logistics, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency behind the scenes. Hours currently run mornings 0200–0600 and evenings 1600–2130, with possible extensions.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, tugs and other equipment following OH&S guidelines
- Use communication aids and freight warehousing systems for accurate import/export documentation
- Ensure safe handling, transportation and inspection of cargo for security and compliance
- Work variable schedules based on airline timetables, including early mornings, late shifts and weekends
- Adhere to Swissport Standard Operating Procedures
Essential Requirements
- Current valid provisional or full driver's licence
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 32kg and pass a pre-employment medical
- Strong commitment to safety and OH&S guidelines
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be 18 years or older
Desirable
- Current forklift licence and warehouse forklift experience
- Import/export processing experience
