Skytanking Australia is seeking a strong, people-focused and hands-on leader to join our Melbourne team as an ITP Operations Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing Into-Plane Operator or Shift Team Leader ready to take the next step into a formal leadership role while staying close to the operation.
About the Role
As the ITP Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Into-Plane (ITP) refuelling operations on the apron, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of services to our customers.
This is a pivotal leadership role within our Melbourne operation, requiring strong people leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to safety and performance excellence.
You will act as a key interface between Into-Plane operations, the Tank Farm (JUHI), and our customer onsite customer, ensuring seamless coordination across all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily Into-Plane refuelling operations
Lead, support, and develop Shift Team Leaders and Operators
Coach and mentor team members to build capability and performance
Conduct Learning Performance Observations (LPOs) and safety observations
Support audits, compliance activities, and quality assurance processes
Maintain JIG compliance and support audit readiness, including participation in internal and external audits
Assist with incident reporting and investigations
Ensure all licences, accreditations, and training requirements are maintained
Maintain strong working relationships with JUHI and ExxonMobil representatives
Coordinate effectively between ITP and Tank Farm operations
Drive continuous improvement and safety initiatives
Participate in on-call roster for operational support
Support the application and interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement (EA), ensuring compliance with employment conditions, rostering, and workplace practices
About You
You are an experienced aviation professional with a strong safety mindset and a passion for leading people. You are a visible, hands-on leader who leads by example, builds trust with your team, and is not afraid to step in and support operations when required.
You bring a practical, team-first approach and are confident engaging with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
You will demonstrate:
Strong experience in Into-Plane (ITP) or broader airport operations environments
Proven leadership capability, with excellent people skills and the ability to engage, motivate, and develop others
A hands-on approach, with a willingness to step in and support refuelling operations when required
A commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence
Working knowledge or experience applying an Enterprise Agreement (EA) or industrial instrument in a supervisory capacity
Ability to build effective relationships with customers, unions, and stakeholders
Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
Sound computer and reporting capability
Essential Requirements
Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence or higher
Dangerous Goods Licence
Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC and Airside Driver’s Authority
