About the Role
Perth Airport is progressing a significant program of landside works as part of the PNR project and is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of key project workstreams on a two-year fixed term contract. Reporting to the Project Director, this hands-on delivery role will oversee project teams, contractors, risks, schedules, budgets and stakeholder relationships to ensure outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed scope, quality, security and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of key PNR project works, including earthworks, drainage, pavements and third-party contractor activities.
- Manage project scope, objectives, deliverables and approvals to ensure alignment with business requirements and strategic priorities.
- Oversee schedules, budgets, resources and project controls to ensure work is delivered on time and within agreed parameters.
- Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, constraints and dependencies in line with Perth Airport's Risk Management Framework.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project owners, designers, contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings, reporting, documentation, month-end activities and progress updates for key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and guide project teams, providing clarity of responsibilities and supporting capability through coaching and mentoring.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, project closeout, handover and lessons learned to strengthen future delivery outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Design or a related discipline, supported by more than six years' relevant project management and delivery experience.
- Proven experience taking full accountability for projects ranging from $5M to $100M.
- Demonstrated experience delivering civil and aviation projects, ideally within major infrastructure or multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong project controls capability across planning, scheduling, cost management and risk management.
- Sound commercial awareness, including an understanding of contractual rights, obligations and their practical application to projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience mentoring junior project managers and transferring project management knowledge across teams.
- Proficiency with project information systems such as Aconex, SharePoint and MS Project, plus Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.
