Mō te tūnga | About the role

Join the Training and Support (Air Staff) team and contribute to the effective delivery of RNZAF capability through coordination and executive support and contributing to RNZAF vehicle fleet management. In this varied role, you will provide administrative and research support, help manage RNZAF vehicle fleet activities, coordinate meetings and events, and build strong working relationships across NZDF and external agencies.

  • Provide coordination and administrative support to the T&S (Air) team
  • Coordinate meetings, events, reports and organisational projects
  • Maintain systems, records and key operational information
  • Help manage the RNZAF vehicle fleet
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships across NZDF and government
  • Contribute to the effective delivery of RNZAF capability and support services

The salary for this role ranges from $74,124 - $82,239, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive coordinator who can manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.

  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience providing high-quality coordination and administrative support
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook and Excel, with the ability to manage information and records effectively
  • Ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
  • Hold a class 1 Full Driver’s Licence

Security Clearance

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here’s what you need to know:

Higher Level Security Clearance

  • You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
  • At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
  • You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
