About the Role
Nauru Airlines is seeking a Part 42 Safety & Quality Officer to join its Safety team in Brisbane. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and continuously enhancing the airline's operational safety and quality performance, while ensuring its Part 42 CAMO remains fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor the Part 42 CAMO quality audit program, conducting audits as Lead Auditor or Audit Team member and preparing reports for management review
- Identify, record and investigate non-compliances, incidents, hazards and emerging trends, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented and recurring issues are addressed
- Monitor supplier and contractor compliance through regular surveillance audits and assess the quality of goods, services, materials and maintenance activities against regulatory requirements
- Maintain quality records and databases, analyse quality data, and provide timely feedback and escalation of significant or unresolved issues to the Quality Manager
- Promote a positive Just Culture by encouraging accurate reporting of errors and deficiencies and supporting safe, compliant maintenance practices
- Support continual improvement of the Nauru Airlines QMS and SMS including participation in the Safety Review Board as required
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated audit experience within the aviation industry
- At least 3 years' experience in quality management and audit
- At least 3 years' experience in CASR Part 42 CAMO
- Able to be issued and maintain a valid ASIC card
- Able to hold a valid passport / able to obtain required visas
- Successful completion of a course in quality management (at least equivalent to a course required to gain certification as a lead auditor)
- Investigation training including at least one aviation-based training course (e.g. Taproot, Boeing MEDA, ATSB, IATA, Southpac, or equivalent)
- Well developed attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks
