The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time (min 20 hours per week with an average of 30 hours per week) versatile and talented to join the Menzies Aviation Team based at the Cairns Airport working on behalf of Virgin Australia.
Our passenger service team are responsible for providing exceptional customer service whilst ensuring the smooth handling of passengers from checking in, boarding, disembarkation and baggage collection. Passenger Service Agents are also responsible for providing assistance to passengers with special needs. Passenger Service Agents must ensure they are highly polished and have the ability to adapt to different tasks throughout their shift.

What you’ll be doing
Providing exceptional customer service
Process passenger check in
Validate passport and documents
Tag baggage, arrange seating & issue boarding passes
Ensure compliance with safety & security requirements
Use multi airline check in systems
Boarding gate duties, including announcements
Assisting special needs guests
Participate in training activities and conduct on the job training
What we need from you
Must be reliable and motivated to work
Ability to work within a fast paced environment and ability to meet critical deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
Strong customer service focus
Applicants with experience in providing outstanding Customer Service
Motivation and flexibility to work on a 7-day rotational shift roster as per flight schedules
Applicants will be required to undergo a Police check, Airport security check and pre-employment medical as part of the standard conditions of employment
