About the role
We are looking for 3 x Ramp Services Officers to join our Cairns team immediately: 1x full-time permanent role and 2x casual positions (30 and 25 hours per week). Shift hours will align with flight schedules and include mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Base Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing safe, timely and efficient Ramp Services to Skytrans flights, including:
• Coordinating the safe, timely and efficient loading and unloading of aircraft baggage and cargo.
• Managing payload restrictions through liaising with operational departments (including Flight Crew and Check-In)
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key company stakeholders
• Operating all company vehicles and equipment in a safe and compliant manner and performing basic maintenance checks
• Accepting and consigning cargo (non-dangerous goods) for Skytrans flights
• Assisting with the marshalling of passengers to/from the aircraft and terminal buildings when required
• Performing other Ramp Services and Ground Handling duties as required by the Base Manager, including servicing aircraft lavatory systems and aircraft detailing (external and internal) in line with Company policies and procedures
What You Need to Succeed
• Previous experience as a Ground Handler/Loader in the Aviation Industry is highly desirable
• Physically capable to perform loading duties and other manual tasks, with a willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Awareness of the importance of achieving on-time performance goals safely and efficiently, with enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations.
• Able to work independently with minimal direction or collaboratively in a team environment, while effectively multitasking and managing time across a variety of responsibilities.
• Demonstrates a genuine commitment to safety standards, with the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and hold a manual driver’s license (minimum P2 provisional).
