Aviation Ground Training Instructor

About the Opportunity

We are seeking Aviation Ground Training Instructors to provide aviation theory training and subject matter advice for the delivery of Pilot Training Courseware to train the next generation of ADF Pilots through the AIR 5428 Pilot Training System. The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases: RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Lockheed Martin leads the delivery for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army candidates, as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction focused on aircraft systems, operational procedures, aircraft performance, Air Traffic Control and airspace procedures, emergency protocols, troubleshooting, navigation, aerodynamics, radio operations, civil and military aviation regulations, and ADF policies
• Maintain student training records
• Conduct aircraft visits and procedure training both aboard static airframes and within procedural trainers
• Assess and report on each student's proficiency, providing feedback and targeted counselling for those needing additional support
• Maintain, secure, and inventory all assigned training equipment, manuals, course materials, and related supplies
• Keep accurate training records, files, and reports in compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Innovate and develop new teaching methods, techniques, and training aids to improve instructional efficiency and effectiveness

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications in a relevant discipline of aviation and/or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment
• Substantial experience in a training environment / delivery of training services

Desirable

• Previous experience in the ADF
• Former QFI / QHI or ground training officer
• Experience on large aircraft types or fast jet
